Are you serious to see your site on the Top Ten Positions of Google SERPs
In fact the answer will be YES!
Then, do not look for black hat techniques to bring your site in top position of any search engine. In my one and half year of SEO experience I have seen myself that various websites which were at top 10 positions at Google, Last year, today they are not in 300 of Google.
That means, that if you want to see your site always on top 20 positions of any search engine you should deploy white hat techniques. You would ask that what are black and white hat seo techniques and how they differ from each other. As from their name you will understand little bit, however I will explain both in my next articles. In this article I will emphasize only on the design and contents guidelines of Google.
I always say to my clients that due to the quality and standards of Google search Engine, if you only target Google’s top 20 positions, I am sure you will be in top 5 positions of other search engines; however all search engines crawling algorithm is little bit different.
So here are few general notes from Google’s Design and content guidelines:
-
Create a useful, information-rich site, and write pages that clearly and accurately describe your content,
- Think about the keywords or key phrases users would type to find your pages, and make sure that your site actually includes those words within it.
- Try to use text instead of images to display important names, content, or links. The Google crawler doesn’t recognize text contained in images. (in this regard read our previous article named Optimization of images at the webpages)
- Make sure that your TITLE tags and ALT attributes are descriptive and accurate.
- Check for broken links and correct HTML.
- Keep the links on a given page to a reasonable number (fewer than 100).
- Offer a site map to your users with links that point to the important parts of your site. If the site map is larger than 100 or so links, you may want to break the site map into separate pages.
- Make a site with a clear hierarchy and text links. Every page should be reachable from at least one static text link.
- If you decide to use dynamic pages (i.e., the URL contains a “?” character), be aware that not every search engine spider crawls dynamic pages as well as static pages. It helps to keep the parameters short and the number of them few.
Honestly, if your website is as per above guidelines, I assure you that sooner or later your website will be listed gradually in top positions.
What you think will be happening with your site and how it will increase its popularity?
Let me clear you that once your site is created under above guidelines, which is also called on-page optimization. The Google will crawl happily your site and will give you an initial PR after few days. Now the visitors will search your site on Google and they will bookmark you or add to their favorities, some will add your link to their blogs and websites, this way you will be getting related links pointing to your website/blog, as the numbers of links increased the position of your website in Google and other SEs will improve. Now you keep updating your site pages and more people are coming to your site, earning more inbound links and consequently one day your site will be at top 20 positions of search engines including Google, msn and yahoo.
